Writing your own content is hard work. All of the words become familiar as you work over them changing and rewording them, working to get the right sentence structure. Any writer will recognize his own words like a mother recognizes her own child, even after someone else has kidnapped them.
Look at this example that I wrote back in 2003 and how it showed up on this other runners website later on:

I constantly read and reread my articles and make changes as necessary. Here is a copy I saved.
Adding a copyright notice to your website does not change the fact that you copied it from another website. This is a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, true but what is it saying about you if you steal some else’s about me page?
